The evening of Mike and Janet's 3rd day in Mazatlan, we went back to the Plazuela Machado for dinner. On Saturday evenings, the Plazuela has outdoor seating for the many restaurants that line the beautifully lite streets. Many vendors set up their tables and musicians are on every corner. Just a magical place on Saturday nights.
We had dinner at Topolo Restaurant & Habanero's Wine Bar.
The building the restaurant is in, is 200 years old.
It was formerly owned, for many years, by a Mexican family
and it was their home. It's a very interesting building.
We had dinner in what was probably, at one time, a bedroom.
The dinner was delicious and we had a wonderful Chilean wine;
Santa Ema Merlot. Mike and Janet actually found it when they
went back to Portland. We haven't been able to find it here yet.
On the fourth day, we took Mike and Janet out to Cerritos near
Playa Bruja (Witch Beach) north of Mazatlan. Since the waves
are very high at this beach, you will often see many surfers here.
This is the new all inclusive hotel that went up while we
were in Washington last year. It's called Riu Emerald Bay.
It has 716 rooms and is 20 stories high overlooking Playa Bruja.
We don't especially like the look of it - doesn't seem to fit
Mexico but here's a little info on it anyway.

Hamburgers at the "Last Drop" in Cerritos are delicious!
I know it probably seems like all we do is eat but you know what,
we drink too.!! :) After the day at Bruja, we had dinner at home.
Greg made delicious fajitas and margaritas. Salud!!
