Two of our granddaughters come to stay with us

We recently had the opportunity to have two of our granddaughters, Serena, age 8 and Jordyn age 4 come stay with us for a few days. After the birth of Lucas, we brought Serena and Jordyn home with us. Their visit had a few challenges but we managed to enjoy our time with them. We tried hard to keep them busy while they were here. Below are a few pictures of the fun times we had together.

Before we headed over the mountains with the girls, we stopped in to see Laura and the kids. Jordyn enjoyed playing with her cousins, Natalie (right) and Andrew (middle) for a little bit. Later Melanie and Justin came by. It was great to see them too and all the cousins had a fun time together.

We kept the girls busy during the two hour trip to Yakima with movies and one of Jordyn's favorite past times, coloring.
Papa helps Serena steady herself on one of the structures at the school playground
near our condo.

Wheeeeeee Jordyn loves to slide.
Serena and Jordyn had fun with a game of soccer using Serena's rules.
After all that exercise it was bath time for Serena and Jordyn.
Serena has fun jumpin in the pool.
Lots of fun playing with water noodles.
Jordyn loved jumping into Papa's arms.

Serena challenges Papa.
We took the girls to the Meadowbrook Family Fun Center here in Yakima. There were not only arcade games but also bumber boats and go-karts. Here is the website for the fun center. http://www.yakimafamilyfun.com/1515.html

Here are the girls on our way to the arcade.

Fun rides and games in the arcade.
Bumper boats with water guns. Jordyn didn't care for the spray.
Papa and Serena racing in the go-karts.
The girls had lots of fun with the arcade games.
Papa and Serena enjoying a game of "red light, green light".
Preparing for fishing at Heisey Park
They weren't too patient with fishing but made for a cute pic.
Riding the dinos. It was pretty hot he day we were at the park so most of the dinos were pretty hot to climb on. The girls found one in the shade.
Fun in the water paddle boats.
Enjoying a refreshing ice cream cone after the paddle boat ride.
One last swing before we leave the park.

We took the girls to the movies. We saw "Space Chimps". They really loved the movie. They seem to both like Luna who was the girl chimp that went into space.
This is the Kid's Castle that is part of a kids gymnastics gym here in Yakima. Really fun place to let the kids burn off some energy. Serena and Jordyn really had fun. The 3 pics below are the entrance, climbing wall and just a shot of the castle.
Jordyn helped a little boy down the ramp. So sweet of her.
Then it was time to take the girls back to their parents. That's what's nice about being grandparents. You can take them back. :) We did have alot of fun with our granddaughters and hope their parents will let us have them again next summer.

The wait is over - Baby Lucas is here!!

As we mentioned a few posts ago, we have been waiting for the call letting us know our 6th grandchild is about to be born. The due date for Josh and Kristi's baby boy was July 8th. One week after his due date, on Tuesday, July 15th, we got a call that Kristi had gone to the hospital to be induced. We packed our bags and rushed over the mountains to Renton just to find out nothing was happening. However, the next morning things started to happen and at 4:01 pm on Wednesday, July 16th Lucas Anthony Juette was born at a whopping 9 pounds 7 1/2 ounces and 19 3/4 inches long. He is a beautiful baby boy and he and mommy are doing great. Of course, Josh and Kristi are experiencing some sleep deprivation but that is to be expected.

Congratulations Josh and Kristi and welcome baby Lucas.

Here are a few pictures of our newest grandson. By the way, Lucas was born on the same day as our oldest grandchild, Natalie, who is now 9 years old.
