We've made it back to Mazatlan!

Here we are back in Mazatlan after our 31-day road trip. With myself as navigator, which was a challenge for Greg, he actually drove 4,238 miles only managing to get lost a couple of times due to my navigation. We arrived Monday, October 1, about 2:30 pm after traveling through 9 US states: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. Then we traveled for 3 days through Mexico to get home. We are so happy to be home and sleeping in our own bed. We figure we slept in 13 different beds on this trip. Lots of packing and unpacking. But we did get a chance to visit many family and friends along the way and even purchased a condo in Yakima, Washington. So it was worth it. We have decided we will become snowbirds and spend the winters in Maz, November - May, and in Yakima June - October. We think the summers in Maz are just too hot for us.

On our trip we saw some amazing scenery through the states I mentioned above. I hope you will enjoy the photos that I have posted. Also, please note I have included a few videos too. Some were taken out the window of the car, especially in Mexico. When we crossed the border at Douglas, Arizona, Greg just wasn't in the sight seeing mode anymore, so we didn't get to stop to take pictures too often. Enjoy! :)

Here are a few pictures of our condo we purchased in Yakima before we began our road trip south. It is a small condo with 1,400 square feet, just two bedrooms and needs some updating but perfect for the few months we will escape the heat and humidity in Maz. The prior owners had not moved out yet when we took these pics, so the furniture you see was theirs.
This is the front entry/yard. We plan to have the hedge cut down to the fence level and just beyond it is the pool. We are really close to the pool so that will be nice.

After visiting with our family and friends in the northwest, we start our journey down south through Oregon.
This is the scenery from the foothills of the Blue Mountains on our way to LaGrande.

This is Twin Falls, Idaho, Shoshone Falls with the Snake River running through it. This is where we spent our first night on our journey south. This is also where my nephew, Kyle lives and is attending the community college at The College of Southern Idaho. (CSI).

Our next stop was to visit my sister Martha and Ali in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Entering Wyoming

We then drove up to Star Valley, Wyoming to see their finished cabin. It is approximately 50 miles from Jackson Hole. Their cabin is now finished with the lower level completed. They have a bar, tv/entertainment room, sunroom and cigar room on that level. The Aspen trees were just beginning to turn so you can see the beautiful gold and red colors of fall.

Another shot of the beautiful valley.

Martha and I having a good time at John's bar.
John was off on a hunting trip so we didn't get to see him. :(

Greg making good use of John's bar.

Beautiful fireplace in the entertainment room.

Just as we were leaving the cabin to continue our journey,
there were a number of deer on the road.
