Back to the Orphanage

We were back at the orphanage today to help with some odds and ends in preparation for the Gala fundraiser coming up on March 14. Greg helped with replacing lights, installing new light fixtures, hanging curtains and repairing benches among lots of other odd jobs they found for him to take care of. They are so appreciative of Greg the "handyman".

I spent alot of the day with Diego, as most of the other children were in school. We played peek-a-boo with the door and I even got him to smile. Made my day! Fed him lunch and played with toys. He is such a sweet little boy. We found out just recently that he was left on the doorstep of a hospital here in Mazatlan when he was just a few days old. We just heard that he is going to be adopted by a family in Phoenix. Everyone is so happy for Diego. We just hope the family that is adopting him have other children, as we can tell by his interactions with the children at the orphanage, he is very attached to them and them to him. So we are sure it will be hard on the children at the orphanage to see him go too.
Greg and I are enjoying our visits more and more and finding we are able to communicate with the children better all the time.
