Visit to the Dentista!

Today we experienced our first dental appointment here in Mazatlan. We went in for our dental cleanings.

The dentist was located in the main mall near our condo (La Gran Plaza.) His office had a small reception area with a 5-point mule deer head on the wall with a display of bullets and hand guns, as well as, drawings of ducks. His actual exam room had a three-point mule deer on the wall, his desk, the exam chair and all of his equipment. There was one dentist and an assistant. The dentist performed the cleaning and it was a quick 15 minutes. He used the same water pick method as in the states but didn't do the normal picking and scraping. So we didn't feel like we got as thorough a cleaning as we are used to. To say the least, it was quite an interesting dental office.

Not sure if we will go back to this dentist. May try another. He spoke English so that was nice and was very professional. The fee was $500 pesos a piece. We don't think that was a bargain from what we have heard.
